Eleri Mills Welsh landscape

Eleri Mills is a Welsh landscape artist born in Mid Wales, 1955. She completed a BA Hons in Art and Design at Manchester Polytechnic from 1974-1977. In the late 1970’s, Eleri worked from a studio in Manchester, and from 1988, she returned to live and work in rural Mid Wales. In 2010 she won the Arts Council of Wales’ Creative Wales Ambassador award followed by a three month residency in New York at Columbia University and a showing at SOFA NYC (the international art fair for Sculpture, Objects and Functional Art) at Park Avenue Armory. Other residencies include Ruthin Craft Centre and Sanskriti Kendra, Delhi in 2016. Her work is featured in national collections which include the Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester, National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh and the National Library of Wales, Aberystwyth. Abroad, Eleri has exhibited her work at the Museums of Modern Art Kyoto and Tokyo, Museu Textil d’Indumentaria, Barcelona and the Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas, Madrid.

Eleri is an elected Member of the Royal Cambrian Academy and in 2021, she was the winner of the Kyffin Williams Drawing Prize.

The Thackeray Gallery has represented Eleri Mills since 2000.
